Going into the year, we all had high expectations. Whether it was personal or business related, this was going to be the year for growth and expansion. However, things turned left once we were hit with the pandemic. Lives were changed and plans have been altered. With so many uncertainties, some couples who had aspirations of becoming newlyweds in 2020 started to have second thoughts on whether or not they should keep their wedding date intact.
Despite things being in limbo, wedding planners are getting creative by developing “intimate wedding” packages that allow for couples to still get married on their original date, but within the CDC state guidelines. One of the first to go along with this trend in the DC Area was B Astonished Events with their “Just The Two Of Us” intimate wedding package.
Within “Just The Two Of Us” couples are provided with planning and coordination (B Astonished Events), a customized wedding ceremony, an officiant, wedding photographer (Terri Baskin Photography), bouquet and boutonniere (Pretty Petals Floral & Event Design), champagne toast with Custom Flutes, a wedding cake (Jenny Baked It) with florals and a one minute Instagram highlight video by yours truly (Blair Williams Productions). Being involved with “Just The Two Of Us”, I must admit that this could be the thing of the future.
With live streaming on the rise, I can see couples electing to go for a smaller intimate wedding, with extended family and friends tuning in via live stream. It is still up in the air if intimate weddings will become a trend of the past once we approach 2021, but as for now I tell couples there is no need to wait, let’s go ahead and keep your date!
